Since 2015, Concéntrico has turned the city of Logroño into a vibrant urban lab, inviting architects and designers to rethink public space through over 150 interventions.

In parallel in Belgium, HORST has transformed ASIAT, a former military site near Brussels, into a testing ground for architecture, music, and community-based city-making.

On Wednesday 22 October at 7PM, we welcome Javier Peña Ibáñez, director of Concéntrico, and Mattias Staelens from Belgian collective Onkruid, for a presentation of both festivals. The presentations will be followed by a discussion moderated by Radim Louda from Architecture Curating Practice.

Parallèlement, en Belgique, HORST a transformé ASIAT, un ancien site militaire près de Bruxelles, en un terrain d'expérimentation pour l'architecture, la musique et la création urbaine communautaire.

Sinds 2015 heeft Concéntrico de stad Logroño omgetoverd tot een bruisend stedelijk laboratorium, waar architecten en ontwerpers worden uitgenodigd om de openbare ruimte te heroverwegen aan de hand van meer dan 150 interventies.

Tegelijkertijd heeft HORST in België ASIAT, een voormalig militair terrein in de buurt van Brussel, omgevormd tot een proeftuin voor architectuur, muziek en gemeenschapsgerichte stadsontwikkeling.

Op woensdag 22 oktober om 19.00 uur verwelkomen we Javier Peña Ibáñez, directeur van Concéntrico, en Mattias Staelens van het Belgische collectief Onkruid voor een presentatie van beide festivals. Since 2015, Concéntrico has transformed the city of Logroño into a vibrant urban innovation laboratory, bringing together architects, designers, and artists from around the world to explore new ways of activating public space. With more than 150 interventions over ten editions, the festival has created a platform for experimentation, dialogue, and collective experience in the contemporary city.

In parallel in Belgium, Horst Arts & Music has been developing a unique trajectory at the intersection of architecture, music, and visual arts. Since its founding in 2014, and especially after relocating to the former military site of ASIAT in Vilvoorde in 2019, Horst has been reimagining how cultural programming can regenerate urban space. Through experimental stage architecture, site-specific installations, and immersive electronic music experiences, Horst activates spaces in transition and fosters bottom-up city-making. The festival serves as both a cultural event and a catalyst for long-term urban and artistic development.

Depuis 2015, Concéntrico a transformé la ville de Logroño en un laboratoire d'innovation urbaine dynamique, réunissant des architectes, des designers et des artistes du monde entier afin d'explorer de nouvelles façons d'animer l'espace public. Avec plus de 150 interventions en dix éditions, le festival a créé une plateforme d'expérimentation, de dialogue et d'expérience collective dans la ville contemporaine.

En parallèle, en Belgique, Horst Arts & Music a développé une trajectoire unique à la croisée de l'architecture, de la musique et des arts visuels. Depuis sa création en 2014, et surtout depuis son déménagement sur l'ancien site militaire de l'ASIAT à Vilvoorde en 2019, Horst réinvente la manière dont la programmation culturelle peut régénérer l'espace urbain. Grâce à une architecture scénique expérimentale, des installations spécifiques au site et des expériences immersives de musique électronique, Horst active des espaces en transition et favorise la création urbaine ascendante. Le festival sert à la fois d'événement culturel et de catalyseur pour le développement urbain et artistique à long terme.

Met meer dan 150 interventies in tien edities heeft het festival een platform gecreëerd voor experiment, dialoog en collectieve ervaring in de hedendaagse stad.

Tegelijkertijd heeft Horst Arts & Music in België een uniek traject ontwikkeld op het snijvlak van architectuur, muziek en beeldende kunst. Sinds de oprichting in 2014, en vooral na de verhuizing naar de voormalige militaire site van ASIAT in Vilvoorde in 2019, heeft Horst een nieuwe visie ontwikkeld op hoe culturele programmering de stedelijke ruimte kan regenereren. Door middel van experimentele podiumarchitectuur, locatiespecifieke installaties en meeslepende elektronische muziekervaringen activeert Horst ruimtes in transitie en stimuleert het bottom-up stadsontwikkeling. Het festival fungeert zowel als cultureel evenement als katalysator voor langetermijnontwikkeling op stedelijk en artistiek vlak.

. The publication brings together a collection of more than 300 photographs by Francisco Ascensão illustrating about 70 recent projects by young architecture offices in Portugal. In the book, the images are put together without specific order to 

give rise to the portrait of an emerging generation of architects

. The choice of photography reveals a variety of projects that together 

 in which materiality, color and geometry express the sensibilities and singularities of forty different offices.The collectiveness of the work is not intended to be generic, on the contrary, it pays particular attention to the architectural details, which have a status on their own. Where colour is present in the majority of the photos, these details are highlighted and dynamise the collection thanks to the pronounced use of flash, off-axis framing and black-and-white treatment. Next to these pictures, various text contributions from different backgrounds accompany these images to shine light and offer a reading of that emerging scene of architects.

donner naissance au portrait d'une génération émergente d'architectes.

 Le choix de la photographie révèle une variété de projets qui, ensemble, 

forment un collage mental d'architectures

 dans lesquelles la matérialité, la couleur et la géométrie expriment les sensibilités et les singularités de quarante bureaux différents. Le caractère collectif de l'ouvrage n'a pas pour but d'être générique, au contraire, il accorde une attention particulière aux détails architecturaux, qui ont un statut à part entière. La couleur étant présente dans la majorité des photos, ces détails sont mis en valeur et dynamisent la collection grâce à l'utilisation prononcée du flash, au cadrage hors axe et au traitement en noir et blanc. À côté de ces images, divers textes provenant de différents horizons accompagnent ces images pour éclairer et offrir une lecture de cette scène émergente d'architectes.

, waarin materialiteit, kleur en geometrie de gevoeligheid en eigenheid van veertig verschillende bureaus tot uitdrukking brengen. Het collectieve karakter van het werk is niet bedoeld om generiek te zijn, integendeel, er wordt bijzondere aandacht besteed aan de architectonische details, die een eigen status hebben. Waar kleur in de meeste foto's aanwezig is, worden deze details benadrukt en geven ze de collectie dynamiek dankzij het uitgesproken gebruik van flitslicht, off-axis kadrering en zwart-witbehandeling. Naast deze foto's begeleiden verschillende tekstbijdragen uit verschillende achtergronden deze beelden om licht te werpen op en een interpretatie te bieden van die opkomende architectenscene.

At the crossroads between art and technique, and between theory and practice, the interdisciplinary position of Baukunst is illustrated by numerous collaborations. Like a constellation of elements, fragments and counter-fields, the pieces on display offered a composite view of recent projects and bore witness to the specificities of the office.

Videos, models and photographs highlighted the identity and production of Baukunst by immersing the public in a singular universe at the intersection of art and science. The whole reveals an architecture open to contemporary issues, attempting to respond to current paradigm shifts, using the prism of certain architectural devices and new representations of our inhabited environment situated between fiction and reality.

Originally designed for the Centre for Fine Arts of Brussels in 2019, the monographic exhibition Baukunst was on show in the Solo Galerie in Paris from 16 October to 17 December 2020. In Paris, the presentation of the exhibition was initiated by Wallonia Brussels Architecture in collaboration with the Architecture cell of Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

À la croisée de l'art et de la technique, de la théorie et de la pratique, la position interdisciplinaire de Baukunst est illustrée par de nombreuses collaborations. Telles une constellation d'éléments, de fragments et de contre-champs, les pièces exposées offraient une vue d'ensemble des projets récents et témoignaient des spécificités du bureau.

Vidéos, maquettes et photographies ont mis en lumière l'identité et la production de Baukunst en plongeant le public dans un univers singulier, à la croisée de l'art et de la science. L'ensemble révèle une architecture ouverte aux questions contemporaines, qui tente de répondre aux changements de paradigmes actuels, à travers le prisme de certains dispositifs architecturaux et de nouvelles représentations de notre environnement habité, situées entre fiction et réalité.

Conçue à l'origine pour le Palais des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles en 2019, l'exposition monographique Baukunst a été présentée à la Solo Galerie à Paris du 16 octobre au 17 décembre 2020. À Paris, la présentation de l'exposition a été initiée par Wallonie Bruxelles Architecture en collaboration avec la cellule Architecture de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

Op het kruispunt van kunst en techniek, en tussen theorie en praktijk, wordt de interdisciplinaire positie van Baukunst geïllustreerd door talrijke samenwerkingen. Als een constellatie van elementen, fragmenten en tegenvelden boden de tentoongestelde stukken een samengesteld beeld van recente projecten en getuigden ze van de specifieke kenmerken van het bureau.

Video's, modellen en foto's benadrukten de identiteit en productie van Baukunst door het publiek onder te dompelen in een uniek universum op het snijvlak van kunst en wetenschap. Het geheel onthult een architectuur die openstaat voor hedendaagse kwesties en tracht in te spelen op de huidige paradigmaverschuivingen, met behulp van bepaalde architecturale middelen en nieuwe voorstellingen van onze leefomgeving, die zich bevinden tussen fictie en realiteit.

De monografische tentoonstelling Baukunst, oorspronkelijk ontworpen voor het Paleis voor Schone Kunsten in Brussel in 2019, was van 16 oktober tot 17 december 2020 te zien in de Solo Galerie in Parijs. In Parijs werd de presentatie van de tentoonstelling geïnitieerd door Wallonia Brussels Architecture in samenwerking met de Architecture cell van de Federatie Wallonië-Brussel.

All Belgians know the concrete sculptures alongside our motorways but not many remember his name. It was Brussels sculptor and architect Jacques Moeschal who conceived these monumental signs from the 1960s onwards. But his work is much more extensive.

Trained first as an architect and then as a sculptor at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, Jacques Moeschal gradually became an 'architect-artist'. His geometric, abstract and monumental sculptures are inconceivable without his training as an architect. His fascination with contemporary techniques and materials, as well as the way he designs with the help of sketches, scale models and precise urban perspectives, originate in his architectural approach. His practice as an architect, which developed in parallel with his career as a sculptor, was of less importance to him and is still much less known.

The exhibition dedicated to his work at the Centre for Fine Arts revealed these two parallel paths: that of the sculptor and that of the architect. It is organised around specific themes present in the artist's work. Exhibition 58 is the starting point with the illustrious Arrow of the Civil Engineers, which led to the development of his Signals in the 1960s and 1970s. His attraction to the automobile, his sculptural stage designs for several exhibition pavilions and his architectural creations such as De Keignaert in Oudenburg form the main thrust of his subsequent career. The exhibition showed the entire life cycle of Moeschal's works, from their design and construction phase to their current situation. Exceptional archival documents such as sketches, technical drawings, models, photographs and videos were complemented by contemporary images. In this framework, three artists and photographers, Kasper Akhøj, Barney Kulok and Ann Veronica Janssens, showed how Moeschal's work is still relevant today.

Tous les Belges connaissent les sculptures en béton qui bordent nos autoroutes, mais peu se souviennent de son nom. C'est le sculpteur et architecte bruxellois Jacques Moeschal qui a conçu ces panneaux monumentaux à partir des années 1960. Mais son œuvre est bien plus vaste.

Formé d'abord comme architecte, puis comme sculpteur à l'Académie royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles, Jacques Moeschal est progressivement devenu un « architecte-artiste ». Ses sculptures géométriques, abstraites et monumentales sont inconcevables sans sa formation d'architecte. Sa fascination pour les techniques et les matériaux contemporains, ainsi que sa manière de concevoir à l'aide de croquis, de maquettes et de perspectives urbaines précises, trouvent leur origine dans son approche architecturale. Sa pratique d'architecte, qui s'est développée parallèlement à sa carrière de sculpteur, était moins importante à ses yeux et reste beaucoup moins connue.

L'exposition consacrée à son œuvre au Palais des Beaux-Arts a révélé ces deux parcours parallèles : celui du sculpteur et celui de l'architecte. Elle s'articule autour de thèmes spécifiques présents dans l'œuvre de l'artiste. L'exposition 58 est le point de départ avec l'illustre Flèche des ingénieurs civils, qui a conduit au développement de ses Signaux dans les années 1960 et 1970. Son attirance pour l'automobile, ses décors sculpturaux pour plusieurs pavillons d'exposition et ses créations architecturales telles que De Keignaert à Oudenburg constituent l'essentiel de sa carrière ultérieure. L'exposition a présenté le cycle de vie complet des œuvres de Moeschal, depuis leur conception et leur construction jusqu'à leur situation actuelle. Des documents d'archives exceptionnels tels que des croquis, des dessins techniques, des maquettes, des photographies et des vidéos ont été complétés par des images contemporaines. Dans ce cadre, trois artistes et photographes, Kasper Akhøj, Barney Kulok et Ann Veronica Janssens, ont montré en quoi le travail de Moeschal est toujours d'actualité.

Alle Belgen kennen de betonnen sculpturen langs onze snelwegen, maar niet veel mensen herinneren zich zijn naam. Het was de Brusselse beeldhouwer en architect Jacques Moeschal die vanaf de jaren zestig deze monumentale borden ontwierp. Maar zijn werk is veel uitgebreider.

Jacques Moeschal volgde eerst een opleiding tot architect en daarna tot beeldhouwer aan de Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Brussel, en groeide geleidelijk uit tot een ‘architect-kunstenaar’. Zijn geometrische, abstracte en monumentale sculpturen zijn ondenkbaar zonder zijn opleiding tot architect. Zijn fascinatie voor hedendaagse technieken en materialen, evenals de manier waarop hij ontwerpt met behulp van schetsen, schaalmodellen en nauwkeurige stedelijke perspectieven, vinden hun oorsprong in zijn architecturale benadering. Zijn praktijk als architect, die zich parallel aan zijn carrière als beeldhouwer ontwikkelde, was voor hem van minder belang en is nog steeds veel minder bekend.


De tentoonstelling gewijd aan zijn werk in het Paleis voor Schone Kunsten bracht deze twee parallelle paden aan het licht: dat van de beeldhouwer en dat van de architect. Ze is opgebouwd rond specifieke thema's die in het werk van de kunstenaar terugkomen. Tentoonstelling 58 is het startpunt met de beroemde Pijl van de Burgerlijke Ingenieurs, die leidde tot de ontwikkeling van zijn Signalen in de jaren 1960 en 1970. Zijn aantrekkingskracht tot de auto, zijn sculpturale decorontwerpen voor verschillende tentoonstellingspaviljoenen en zijn architecturale creaties zoals De Keignaert in Oudenburg vormen de rode draad in zijn verdere carrière. De tentoonstelling toonde de volledige levenscyclus van Moeschals werken, van hun ontwerp- en bouwfase tot hun huidige situatie. Uitzonderlijke archiefdocumenten zoals schetsen, technische tekeningen, modellen, foto's en video's werden aangevuld met hedendaagse beelden. In dit kader toonden drie kunstenaars en fotografen, Kasper Akhøj, Barney Kulok en Ann Veronica Janssens, hoe Moeschals werk vandaag de dag nog steeds relevant is.

A project initiated by CENTRAL office for architecture and urbanism (Radim Louda, Paul Mouchet & Valentin Piret), Maxime Delvaux and UR (Chloé Valadié & Gaétan Brunet) in March 2020.

In complete lockdown, everyone was stuck at home, chained to their tables, facing isolation and eventually being inspired by the objects around them. This was seen as an opportunity to collaborate and share thoughts and fascinations around a common project, a collaborative furniture series called 

. National and international architects, artists and designers were asked to translate their personal fascination into the design for an aluminum coffee table. This collection of objects is now the physical witness of that precise moment when the domestic environment was the only playground available. The result is the production of 44 coffee tables in erratic forms by, amongst others the Brussels architecture firm 51N4E, fala atelier from Porto, l’AUC from Paris and Piovenefabi from Milano.These 44 original tables were the core of an exhibition at MAD showing the process of design and production of these various objects.

Un projet lancé en mars 2020 par le cabinet d'architecture et d'urbanisme CENTRAL (Radim Louda, Paul Mouchet et Valentin Piret), Maxime Delvaux et UR (Chloé Valadié et Gaétan Brunet). 

En plein confinement, tout le monde était coincé chez soi, enchaîné à son bureau, confronté à l'isolement et finalement inspiré par les objets qui l'entouraient. Cela a été vu comme une occasion de collaborer et de partager des réflexions et des fascinations autour d'un projet commun, une série de meubles collaboratifs intitulée 

. Des architectes, artistes et designers nationaux et internationaux ont été invités à traduire leur fascination personnelle dans la conception d'une table basse en aluminium. Cette collection d'objets est désormais le témoin physique de ce moment précis où l'environnement domestique était le seul terrain de jeu disponible. Le résultat est la production de 44 tables basses aux formes irrégulières, réalisées entre autres par le cabinet d'architecture bruxellois 51N4E, l'atelier fala de Porto, l'AUC de Paris et Piovenefabi de Milan. Ces 44 tables originales ont constitué le cœur d'une exposition au MAD présentant le processus de conception et de production de ces différents objets.

Een project dat in maart 2020 werd opgestart door CENTRAL office for architecture and urbanism (Radim Louda, Paul Mouchet & Valentin Piret), Maxime Delvaux en UR (Chloé Valadié & Gaétan Brunet). 

Tijdens de volledige lockdown zat iedereen thuis vast, geketend aan hun bureau, geconfronteerd met isolatie en uiteindelijk geïnspireerd door de voorwerpen om hen heen. Dit werd gezien als een kans om samen te werken en gedachten en fascinaties te delen rond een gemeenschappelijk project, een collaboratieve meubelserie genaamd 

. Nationale en internationale architecten, kunstenaars en ontwerpers werd gevraagd om hun persoonlijke fascinatie te vertalen naar het ontwerp van een aluminium salontafel. Deze collectie objecten is nu het fysieke bewijs van dat specifieke moment waarop de huiselijke omgeving de enige beschikbare speelplaats was. Het resultaat is de productie van 44 salontafels in grillige vormen door onder andere het Brusselse architectenbureau 51N4E, fala atelier uit Porto, l'AUC uit Parijs en Piovenefabi uit Milaan. Deze 44 originele tafels vormden de kern van een tentoonstelling in MAD, waar het ontwerp- en productieproces van deze verschillende objecten te zien was.

Victor Bourgeois is the leading Belgian representative of the international Modern Movement and played a central role in the development of modern architecture in Brussels, Belgium and, to some extent, internationally. He is an architect-builder, writer, organizer of cultural events and teacher at the Institut Supérieur des Arts Décoratifs - La Cambre.

The exhibition was divided into two parts. On the one hand, 17 diptychs combined recent photographs by Maxime Delvaux with images that Bourgeois himself had made of his work. A contemporary view thus entered into dialogue with the historical documents and highlighted our way of seeing the architecture of that period. On the other hand, the exhibition offered a broad overview of Bourgeois' work on the basis of 33 projects organized into five themes. These are arranged chronologically and correspond to the evolution of Bourgeois' approach.

Victor Bourgeois est le principal représentant belge du mouvement moderne international et a joué un rôle central dans le développement de l'architecture moderne à Bruxelles, en Belgique et, dans une certaine mesure, à l'échelle internationale. Il est architecte-constructeur, écrivain, organisateur d'événements culturels et enseignant à l'Institut Supérieur des Arts Décoratifs - La Cambre.

L'exposition était divisée en deux parties. D'une part, 17 diptyques combinaient des photographies récentes de Maxime Delvaux avec des images que Bourgeois lui-même avait réalisées de son travail. Une vision contemporaine entrait ainsi en dialogue avec les documents historiques et mettait en lumière notre façon de voir l'architecture de cette période. D'autre part, l'exposition offrait un large aperçu du travail de Bourgeois à partir de 33 projets organisés en cinq thèmes. Ceux-ci sont classés par ordre chronologique et correspondent à l'évolution de l'approche de Bourgeois.

Victor Bourgeois is de belangrijkste Belgische vertegenwoordiger van de internationale moderne beweging en speelde een centrale rol in de ontwikkeling van de moderne architectuur in Brussel, België en, tot op zekere hoogte, internationaal. Hij is architect-bouwer, schrijver, organisator van culturele evenementen en docent aan het Institut Supérieur des Arts Décoratifs - La Cambre.

De tentoonstelling was verdeeld in twee delen. Enerzijds werden 17 tweeluiken gecombineerd met recente foto's van Maxime Delvaux en beelden die Bourgeois zelf van zijn werk had gemaakt. Een hedendaagse visie ging zo een dialoog aan met de historische documenten en benadrukte onze manier van kijken naar de architectuur van die periode. Anderzijds bood de tentoonstelling een breed overzicht van het werk van Bourgeois op basis van 33 projecten, gegroepeerd in vijf thema's. Deze zijn chronologisch gerangschikt en komen overeen met de evolutie van Bourgeois' benadering.

During an exhibition at the Tin Sheds Gallery at the University of Sydney in 2023, architectural photographers Rory Gardiner (Melbourne) and Maxime Delvaux (Brussels) had their work exhibited together for the first time. The book 

 (Perimeter Editions) produced from this exhibition will be presented at

During an exhibition at the Tin Sheds Gallery at the University of Sydney in 2023, architectural photographers Rory Gardiner and Maxime Delvaux had their work exhibited together for the first time. In the form of image associations, a dialogue is established between the two artists' photographs. The comparison is not insignificant. Indeed, several aspects of their practice bring the two photographers closer together. On the one hand, there is an aesthetic similarity, with an interest in the architecture of the ordinary, where bodies are largely absent but where clues testify to their passage. These images are worked with a predominance of neutral tones, softening the photographed architecture. On the other hand, we can also note a technical rapprochement through the use of film photography, more specifically the use of the same camera, an Arca-Swiss.

Rory Gardiner is originally from Melbourne and works in London, and Maxime Delvaux is Belgian, based in Brussels. Their major presence in the Belgian and Australian architectural photography landscape reveals a renewed interest in built works as much as the environment that surrounds them. Through their photographs, in which the anthropic and the natural merge, they document the paradigm shifts of contemporary architects in the face of climate upheaval.

To enrich the exhibition in Sydney, the two photographers gave themselves over to an experiment. On the same day, in the same place, they were each asked to take a film photo, with the aim of having the other retouch it digitally. In addition to highlighting the complementary nature of their practice, between analog and digital, the exercise produced singular works, signed by both of their names. In the framework of the book launch, they will repeat the experience using Brussels as a model.

Lors d'une exposition à la Tin Sheds Gallery de l'Université de Sydney en 2023, les photographes d'architecture Rory Gardiner et Maxime Delvaux ont vu leurs travaux exposés ensemble pour la première fois. Sous forme d'associations d'images, un dialogue s'établit entre les photographies des deux artistes. La comparaison n'est pas anodine. En effet, plusieurs aspects de leur pratique rapprochent les deux photographes. D'une part, il y a une similitude esthétique, avec un intérêt pour l'architecture de l'ordinaire, où les corps sont largement absents mais où des indices témoignent de leur passage. Ces images sont travaillées avec une prédominance de tons neutres, adoucissant l'architecture photographiée. D'autre part, on peut également noter un rapprochement technique à travers l'utilisation de la photographie argentique, plus précisément l'utilisation d'un même appareil photo, un Arca-Swiss.

Rory Gardiner est originaire de Melbourne et travaille à Londres, et Maxime Delvaux est belge, basé à Bruxelles. Leur présence majeure dans le paysage de la photographie d'architecture belge et australienne révèle un intérêt renouvelé pour les ouvrages construits autant que pour l'environnement qui les entoure. À travers leurs photographies, où l'anthropique et le naturel se confondent, ils documentent les changements de paradigme des architectes contemporains face aux bouleversements climatiques.

Pour enrichir l'exposition à Sydney, les deux photographes se sont livrés à une expérience. Le même jour, au même endroit, ils ont été invités à prendre chacun une photo argentique, dans le but de la faire retoucher numériquement par l'autre. En plus de mettre en évidence la complémentarité de leur pratique, entre analogique et numérique, l'exercice a produit des œuvres singulières, signées de leurs deux noms. Dans le cadre du lancement du livre, ils renouvelleront l'expérience en prenant Bruxelles comme modèle.

Tijdens een tentoonstelling in de Tin Sheds Gallery van de Universiteit van Sydney in 2023 hebben architectuurfotografen Rory Gardiner en Maxime Delvaux hun werk voor het eerst samen tentoongesteld. In de vorm van beeldassociaties wordt een dialoog tot stand gebracht tussen de foto's van de twee kunstenaars. De vergelijking is niet onbelangrijk. Verschillende aspecten van hun praktijk brengen de twee fotografen immers dichter bij elkaar. Enerzijds is er een esthetische overeenkomst, met een interesse in de architectuur van het gewone, waar lichamen grotendeels afwezig zijn maar waar aanwijzingen getuigen van hun passage. Deze beelden worden bewerkt met een overwicht aan neutrale tinten, die de gefotografeerde architectuur verzachten. Anderzijds kunnen we ook een technische toenadering vaststellen door het gebruik van filmfotografie, meer bepaald het gebruik van dezelfde camera, een Arca-Swiss.

Rory Gardiner komt oorspronkelijk uit Melbourne en werkt in Londen, en Maxime Delvaux is een Belg die in Brussel woont. Hun grote aanwezigheid in het Belgische en Australische landschap van architectuurfotografie toont een hernieuwde interesse in bouwwerken en de omgeving eromheen. Door middel van hun foto's, waarin het antropische en het natuurlijke samensmelten, documenteren ze de paradigmaverschuivingen van hedendaagse architecten in het licht van de klimaatverandering.

Om de tentoonstelling in Sydney te verrijken, gaven de twee fotografen zich over aan een experiment. Op dezelfde dag, op dezelfde plaats, werd hen gevraagd om elk een filmfoto te maken met de bedoeling deze door de ander digitaal te laten retoucheren. Naast het benadrukken van de complementaire aard van hun praktijk, tussen analoog en digitaal, leverde de oefening unieke werken op, ondertekend door hun beider namen. In het kader van de boekpresentatie zullen ze deze ervaring herhalen met Brussel als model.
